Abstract
ISO/IEC 29341-8-21:2008(E) enables the control, monitoring and configuration of IEEE 802.11 Wireless Access Points for the unmanaged network space, namely residential and small office LANs. It focuses on the core elements required for setting up wireless networks, configuring wireless security, diagnosing and monitoring usage problems, and setting location-specific information elements. The series of ISO/IEC 29341 publications defines an architecture for pervasive peer-to-peer network connectivity of intelligent appliances, wireless devices and PCs. It is designed to bring easy to use, flexible, standards-based connectivity to ad-hoc or unmanaged networks whether in the home, in a small business, public spaces or attached to the Internet.
